TJ Trimboli the founder of Trimboli Basketball Academy has always had a passion for the game of basketball and everything it represents. Joining him in this endeavor are his 2 brothers Bobby and Mike. With strong backgrounds in competitive basketball, they have excelled at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels, earning accolades such as All-State and All-American honors while leading championship teams at every level. Beyond their playing careers, they have honed their coaching skills through years of experience at youth, AAU, and collegiate levels. Dedicated to player development, they focus on building skills, enhancing game IQ, and fostering personal growth. Their commitment to excellence has led to coaching players who have advanced to collegiate and professional levels. Together, they create a supportive yet challenging environment where every athlete can thrive and grow.
TJ Trimboli played at Norwalk High School from 1992-1996. He was an All-FCIAC and All-State 1st team selection as a senior while the team finished a perfect 28-0. He then went on to pursue basketball in college getting a full scholarship to Southern Connecticut State University where he earned numerous awards such as NECC All-Rookie team and Regional MVP of the NCAA tournament as a freshman. The team finished 28-4 and went to the Elite 8 where they lost to eventual champion Cal-State Bakersfield. He was selected as a First Team All-NECC as a sophomore and junior. In his senior season, the team finished 25-4, ranked #4 in the country in the final poll and he was named an All-America selection by the National Association of Basketball Coaches in 2000. He was Player of the Year in the NECC as a senior and held 9 all-time records when he graduated SCSU. 20+ years later, he still holds 3 all-time records including FT% for a season, FT% for a career and 3-point % for a career. He currently ranks 6th on the school's all-time scoring list with over 1,800 points scored. He ranks 2nd in all time assists for a career, 11th in steals, 3rd in 3 pointers made, and 5th in free throws made. The team had 84 wins during his 4 years and he was a 3 year starter and played in every game. After playing, he went on to be an assistant at SCSU for 2 years before pursuing a career in business. Since then he has coached youth basketball in Fairfield county at all levels. He has coached multiple AAU teams and currently has players playing both collegiately and professionally.
Michael "Mike" Trimboli, From Norwalk, Connecticut, is a distinguished figure in basketball, both as a player and more recently as a coach.
Mike's basketball journey began with the Connecticut Flame, ranked 9th Nationally, and the Fairfield County Stars, ranked 17th Nationally. He attended Trinity Catholic High School from 2000 to 2004, where he played a crucial role in the program’s dominance, helping lead the team to 3 FCIAC championships and 3 CIAC state titles. His senior year was historic, as Trinity Catholic went undefeated at 27-0, capping off a perfect season with another state championship.
Seeking additional development and exposure, Mike pursued a reclass senior year at St. Luke's School in New Canaan, Connecticut, during the 2004-2005 season. He made an immediate impact, averaging 29 points and 6 assists per game and led the school to an FAA and NEPSAC Class C championship while earning over 20 Division I scholarship offers from top programs across the country.
From 2005 to 2009, Mike was a standout guard for the University of Vermont Catamounts, where he made an indelible mark on the program. He started and played in every game of his collegiate career, becoming one of only four players in UVM history to surpass 2,000 career points (finishing with 2,008). He also set a school record with 624 career assists and recorded 213 steals, ranking among the program’s all-time leaders.
Mike was a four-time America East All-Conference selection, winning America East Rookie of the Year in 2006, and serving as a three-year team captain. His leadership and production were instrumental in Vermont’s continued success.
After college, Mike pursued professional opportunities, including an NBA tryout with the New Jersey Nets. He then played internationally, spending a year competing in Poland and Slovakia's top leagues, further broadening his basketball experience.

Bobby Trimboli played his high school basketball at Norwalk High from 1996-1998 then transfered to Trinity Catholic for his senior year in 1999 where he earned multiple awards including McDonald's All-American Nominee, All-State & All-FCIAC 1st team, and winning the state championship in ‘99 earning MVP honors. Scoring over 1000 pts for his high school career, he then pursued basketball at the college level and was awarded a full scholarship to play at Southern Connecticut State University alongside his brother TJ. As a freshman, his team won the NECC championship and ranked #4 in the nation and #1 in New England for Division II. As a senior he was awarded co-player of the year in the NE-10 conference and finished with over 1000 pts, top 10 in assists, and 11th in steals. He is only one of three players to record a triple double in school history against Merrimack college. After college he went on to coach his former high school team Norwalk high. Taking over a program that won only three games in two years prior to stepping in as head coach, he won nine games in his first year of coaching and qualified for the state playoffs. In his second season as head coach his team qualified for both the FCIAC and state playoffs , earning him coach of the year honors.
As an athletic development specialist with over 20 years of experience, Bobby has been dedicated to optimizing an athlete’s performance and aims to work closely with individuals at all levels educating them on how to train the body properly. He has developed a unique athletic assessment (movement protocols) which allows him to gather crucial data in multiple areas to create comprehensive training programs for his students.
